ACT Asprie Testing Resources

  1. This link is direct to the ACT Aspire grade level testing booklets and technology enhanced questions. The test booklets are at the bottom of the page. If using tech to do this, google chrome will not work. Use internet explorer instead. ACT Aspire is the official company that will test our students this May.

  2. This link is to a web site that focuses on reading passages. Click on the article that interests you and then on the left hand side choose the difficulty level (It's by lexile). For example, a lexile of 1000-1100 is considered a 9th-12th grade reading level. If the article is too difficult, just click to lower the lexile of the article and the same article will appear with a lower lexile level. A short quiz of 4 questions is provided for each article to test comprehension. Since you guys had boys, I already set this to sports articles. You will have to create an account but it is free. Choose an article that you would like to discuss during dinner. It's always interesting to listen to the opinion of a child.

Unlimited access to hundreds of leveled news articles and Common Core–aligned quizzes, with new articles every day.

  3. Last but not least is the official ACT web page. This web page has practice ACT tests (the official college entrance exam) with answers provided. There is also a section were you have a question of the day if you explore the test prep section. Since there are practice tests here by content area, there is also a wealth of reading passages available in the Reading sample test questions. Remember the English test is based more on punctuation and grammar. Don't forget that when you do sign up for the ACT, you can pay extra for your test AND answers returned so you can improve your score in the future.
