To: Parents of ALL Students, 2nd-11th Grade
The Texarkana Arkansas School District is excited to announce that we are now accepting referrals for students in grades 2–11 who would like to be evaluated for possible placement in the Gifted and Talented (GT) Program. (This does not apply to students who are currently enrolled in the GT program.)
Referrals may be submitted by any member of the school district faculty, parents, and/or students. Please visit our district website for more information on our GT program.
Parents who wish to refer their child for the 2026–2027 school year are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher and/or counselor prior to completing the Parent Referral Form. This discussion should include a review of the student’s current grades, test scores, and classroom performance to help determine the advisability of testing.
Referred students will be tested on their home campus in February or March—February for secondary schools and March for elementary schools.
All referrals for evaluation must be submitted by Friday, January 16, by midnight
